The August grape harvest (“Vendimia”) and the beginning of the wine-making process at Bodegas Bentomiz’s vineyards and winery near Sayalonga in Malaga province. The Axarquía is dominated by Moscatel de Alejandría grapes, which are used for the Ariyanas white wines (Naturalmente Dulce, Terruño Pizarroso and Seco Sobre Lías Finas) but we also use Tempranillo, Petit Verdot and the rare local Romé for Ariyanas Tinto de Ensamblaje and Merlot in the Ariyanas David (Tinto Dulce). Very hard work but beautiful and rewarding!
